I can't BELIEVE IT!!!

If you're into Digital Art/Creation/Media like I am (it IS my job, lol), then you had to hear about this:

Adobe Buys Macromedia for $3.4 BILLION!!!

Now this might not be that big a deal for most people on these boards, but if you think about the fact that the world's leading seller of digital creation and editing tools has bought the leading supplier of software for interactive web-ready content, it brings some interetsting concepts to light, no?

I would bet my last dollar (and i'm down to it right now, lol) that Photoshop is the program that was used to clean up all the pretty little pictures all over 1up.com, and Macromedia's Flash was the program that created all the nice moving ads you see littered around the internet.

This opens up intriguing thoughts.... Could Adobe corner the market in what they believe to be a 'defense' from Microsoft? Could Macromedia bring Adobe even MORE customers? The questions never cease when you place two industry giants in the same corner against everyone else... That's like Microsoft buying Sony's Playstation Division in 'defense' of the new Nintendo system's release! (MS has an open pocketbook big enough to buy just about any company on the planet, lol. But Although not impossible, it's HIGHLY doubted...)

I wonder if it's gonna be called Adobe Flash from now on....that's just gonna feel weird!

Oh..interesting little tidbit for you brainiacs out there reading this...... Were you aware that Flash isn't named the way it is because of it's flashy and showy graphics...It used to be called Future Splash. Flash is a shortened name for that. See! You learn something new every day!!

These are the newest "pics" of the Xbox 360's controllers.....

I say it that way because they are no where near confirmed, but they seem to give a glimpse of where Microsoft is leaning with their next console's controls and color scheme. They look white to me, with a design that mixes the control scheme of the Controller S with the form mixture of both the Controller S and the DualShock PS One and 2 controllers.

This is interesting to me because it shows that MS is seriously putting thought into their controller choice. Both the "Duke" and the Controller S have been getting somewhat harsh reviews from people used to the DualShock pads, reasons being that they're "Too big" or "Doesn't feel right." Since the PS2 controller is widely acclaimed as the Best Controller, MS melding the design with their flagship S controller is sure to grab the attention of current PS2 owners that MS is trying to 'steal' from Sony this fall with the launch of the Xbox 360.

Add to that the fact that both MS and Sony both have plans on making their controllers wireless out of the box, and we have the beginnings of a true console war brewing on the horizon. Will MS' strategy of releasing the Xbox 360 work for them like it did for Sony and the PS2? Only time will tell and E3 is right around the corner, but it seems MS is out to take no prisoners with their next console. And this gamer can't wait to see the action.

Oh, the beautiful Day!!!

Well, today marks the destruction of what was left of my Spring Break. Classes resume in 47 minutes, to be exact :D. Luckily, my Spring Break ended on one of the highest notes possible - my finding out that I win a free Sony PSP and Ridge Racer!!

It'll be at least a month until I can even CONSIDER seeing it, (PROVE ME WRONG 1UP!!! lol) but even still I find myself in an insatiable PSP fever. Soon, i'll start sweating in the night...waking up screaming of the horrors in Untold Legends and the addictiveness of Lumines.....well before I have the ability to place hands on either game!

There's no way I can thank 1UP enough for this hearty helping of Magical Marvels of Technology (I should get that patented ^_^) that will be delivered to my doorstep by an afraid and weary deliveryman.....when I get my e-mail entailing when to recieve my soon-to-be-delivered bundle of joy, i'll be literally hunting the FedEx, UPS, and USPS workers.....XD

Just joking for those that weren't aware ;D.

THANKS AGAIN 1UP.COM!!! GOOD LUCK TO ALL PARTICIPANTS!!!

Of all the unexpected things in this world.......

I've never been one to win things, so this came as a complete surprise!! I came back from Gamestop with a friend of mine picking up Skies of Arcadia for the GC, and checked my page on 1up.com (Deejay_Knight). Then I noticed I had friend invites from people congratulating me on winning the PSP....I STILL don't believe it!!

I never thought i'd win anything, let alone a PSP AND a game!!! Now here I am with a ton of well-wishing people showing their respects, and I thank them all for it :D. I sincerely hope you all have a chance at winning! XD

Good Luck, and THANKS 1UP.COM!!!

Here it comes.....

Here comes the craziest month of my time at Full Sail. Spring Break officially ends this coming Monday when we start back to classes. To say that it's going to be crazy wouldn be a gross understatement.

There are 2, count them, TWO HUGE projects that we're going to be working on this month...

For the website, I got in touch with someone for a possible redesign, but that depends on whether or not my group would accept my suggestion as to the person and company. If they allow it, it could be a huge career assist on all parts if (or should i say WHEN)we pull it off correctly, due to the company. I won't be posting any of their info, but I might post a link to the site when we're finished so people can see our handiwork :).

When it comes to the 3D project, things should go along pretty well due to the fact that one of the guys in my group is as into 3d art as I am. That helps things along QUITE well ;).

Well, i'm off to enjoy the rest of my weekend and hopefully finish the texture to my Veritech VF-1J fighter. That'll make things MUCH easier when we get back to class :).

Have a good weekend!!
